2009 New Splinter wooden supercar

You may recollect our mail on the Splinter stiff supercar tardy last year. At the time, the grad students behind the impel being led by Joe Harmon only had renderings of what the Gaia-agreed exotic would look like. They deserve spare repute, however, for having the actual car inclined for the International Woodworking Fair in Atlanta last week. While they've yet to range the operation prototype perform, they did marry the car's body to its all-wooden carcass. Renderings are one things, but since photos of the actual car is inspiring. The body is composed of basket-wicker forest that's layered with resin in a style, which we reason makes it a different kind of carbon strand altogether. Next up is actually correct the drivetrain, which thankfully is not made of covert, and receiving the Splinter pathetic under its own brawn. We may have doubted at the launch that this fling would ever be fulfilled, let solitary be this cool, but judge us converts.
